Garance Bonard's spectral voices haunt the space. They respond to the hallucinations painted by Kiván Quiñones Beltrán on hanging sheets. Recited poems, jazz samples and the sounds of bells emanate from the sound system, grazing the collages nailed to the walls. The artists take turns conjuring up Swiss folk tales and ancestral Afro-Caribbean rituals. Together, they tell us about multiple esoteric stories and the powers of sound.

Their personal mythologies intersect, overlap and accumulate. The desire to weave a new history and create chimeras with the fragments of the past is apparent. Where ocean meets mountain, new rituals take shape. But the voices keep asking, ‘How deep is the ocean lying between us?

Fortuna is a curatorial project based between Switzerland and Puerto Rico. Co-founded in 2022 by Sebastián Dávila and Eleonora Del Duca, it aims to forge links between these two places by connecting diverse artistic practices through multi-faceted projects such as exhibitions and publications.
