Delice Music (2022)
Delice Music
Collaboration radio 40 x Plateforme 10
For this project, I used the digital methodology of MIDI translation, which consists of transforming, in music production software, an extract of music considered to be ‘classical’ into a MIDI track, thus creating deregulated and unique loops. I then composed the piece around these loops, giving the project an automatic dimension. The extract used is an interpretation of a score that appears in Jerome Bosch's Garden of Delights - a work belonging to the world of high culture - where the score is painted on the buttocks of one of the figures. By including this ‘Butt Music’ in a museum exhibition, I sought to reflect on what is considered to be noble art, or part of high culture, and what is not, thus belonging outside the boundaries of the museum.
